The story starts in 2008.
With science olympiad.
Maddie and Nate are unknowingly competing against each other in the Pasta Tower Building Competition. Nate won :)
It’s 2011.
It’s 7th grade.
AUGUST 2011
We officially met in Ms. Doak’s 7th grade english class at Carmel Middle School.
OCTOBER 2012
We became fast BFFs who lovingly call each other “swagmaster” (talk about a sign of the times - thankfully, we do not use this nickname anymore.)
In August 2013
We headed off to rival high schools.
But in MARCH 2015 our paths crossed again…for good.
South Meck was playing Myers Park in a baseball tournament and Nate was pitching. Maddie said hi which got Nate in trouble with his coach…worth it.
Next thing you know, Nate is picking up Maddie for their first date in an old pickup truck (sorry Mr. Jenatian). They went to iHOP and talked for 4 hours.
APRIL 2015
Their second “date” was hanging as friends with vibes at Ben & Jerry’s free cone day. And who else happened to be there? Nate’s parents. Guess it’s time to meet that cute girl Nate is hanging out with.

It’s official.
Nate asks Maddie to be his girlfriend at freedom park in Charlotte, NC, our favorite spot for picnics and eno-ing.

The college years at USC are full of business classes in Darla, mopeding, chicken finger Wednesday’s, tailgates, games, Pavs (RIP), sorority functions, COVID restrictions and chaos, Wednesday Night Jake’s, Columbia date nights, and living with our best friends having the time of our lives!

Western Style
Nate jets off to Dallas early for his new job and Maddie moves in with Addison. We all start learning how to adult! Our time in Dallas was full of boot scootin fun, rodeos, days and nights on Greenville Ave, a trip to Big Bend national park, and trips with friends to Austin, Boerne, San Antonio, Corpus Christi - basically, we covered a lot of the state!

We’re engaged!
Nate popped the question in Central Park on a trip to scout out apartments for our next big move - the Big Apple!
Time to pack our bags and load up the Budget truck. We love you, Dallas!
